You play one game at a time.

You can lose to any team.

However, when you look at the Browns schedule. There are favorable match-ups.

I never thought that DW could play like he did in the second half of the Bucs game. But there it was. He played well.

Can he repeat that performance? Frankly, I do not know. But if you do it once. You should be able to be close.

If that is the case. The entire season changes. The final record could be something that a week ago would have looked impossible.

IMO at this point I would not trade any of our QB's. You don't know how our season will go. I predicted we would win no more than 5-6 games, but what do I know? We may win more or less. What I do know is we go through 3-4 QB's a year. Let's wait until the trade deadline, I believe it's November 10th and see where we stand then.

It's not a wait and see in some cases, as I said in some.

If a team is in desperate need, they may offer more for a player than just simply waiting on a player for a tradeline date.

Watson is gone at the end of the season no matter what. His contract is structured that way. So, he's motivated to lay down good tape for the next team.

I don't think you get compensation for players you cut.

Here's an article on his contract..

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/browns-deshaun-watson-contract-release-2027/

Cap hit when the Browns cut him June 1st 2027:

2027: $34.7 million in dead cap
2028: $51.5 million in dead cap

I'm enjoying the wins, but I don't think I'll ever get to this point.

Same here and it's that way since he arrived. It's like wanting the guy you didn't vote for to do well even if you aren't ready to go stump for them.

DW has played better.

He has been really good in the fourth quarter of the last two games.

I don't want to discount what he has done.

However, we came from behind to win two close games. The outcomes of those games would have been different "if" a number of sure interceptions were not dropped.

A sure pick six and a number of others that would have made the outcomes different.

He has shown better mobility than expected. That has made a difference.

DW has to protect the ball and avoid turnovers. If he can do that. We will win games that we were not expected to win.

Three weeks ago DW was 32 out of 32 QBs on NFL ranking list-- he's 24 of 32 today.......Mayfield, he of 55 million dollar contract- he be 29th AND he's out for three weeks due to thumb injury.......Blanton Collier, Browns, coach in 60s.......on any given Sunday, anyone can win. The QB ratings sure flux during the season......hope DW balls out because I'm a Browns fan.......Go Browns!!!! DW needs forgiveness for past actions.....most of us are perfect. Right.

I could never forgive the off field stuff, but I’m getting to the point that I want to root for him. I still think he’s mental swiss cheese.

I'm pretty sure that players with void years built in for signing bonuses are still eligible for comp picks. It goes by the salaried contract years. When they run out, they become free agents, when they become free agents, they are eligible for comp picks.

It's amazing how a couple of wins brings out the champions of forgiveness.

I'm a Browns fan and I want to see wins, but I am still ready for that guy to be gone from Cleveland forever. I don't need to forgive anything.. He's 2 weeks into a high for Browns wins, love the fact we finally won a season opener. He's over 4 years into a lull of empathy and downright embarrassment and lack of respect for the person.

GO BROWNS!

100%.
DW can get a little forgiveness when he owns what he did... to date that's never happened.

FYI: DW will be a post June 1 cut...he will not be a free agent. He has a 'dummy' year added to his contract that allows them to kick the...err...spread out his cap hit into '27 & '28.

As soon as he has a bad game everyone will be on him again. It's probably just a matter of time and could happen tonight. I hope he continues to play well because I want the team to do well.

I'm of the belief that I'll always root for us to win, and since he's our QB I Have to do that. However, I'm not rooting just for him

You're right, his void date isn't until February 2029, so they can utilize the post June 1 designation. They won't value, even a 3rd round comp, high enough to not use the designation.

I have been asked by friends and people that know me, why do you still root for the Browns since you despise watson so much? My answer is the same then as it is now. Because there are 52 other players and a coaching staff on the team. I'm not going to turn my back on all of them just because this owner that obviously has no moral scruples signed that scum bag.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
