What about Lito Sheppard? He's apparently on the block now that Philly acquired Samuel and we'd probably like to add another corner.
Do we even have picks left to trade?
or what player could we trade?

anybody heard an update on these guys and there visits here?
Nick Greisen Donte Stallworth 2/29/2008 Travis LaBoy 2/29/2008
anybody know of any additions to our visit list since that list was posted?
I like the Stalworth visit for the right price.
I Don't know anything about LaBoy, but would love to hear oppinions. I'm hoping he is another Shaun Smith type signing. I another guy I knew little about.
I'm now hoping we here about a visit from a CB. i don't care what tier.

Just say no to Drew Carter. He failed in Carolina with almost no competition for #2 and defenses double and triple teaming Steve Smith.
As for Bryant Johnson, so what if he was the #3 receiver behind 2 pro bowl wr's? His rookie year he got injured in training camp and Bouldin never looked back.

Ugh...this has all the makings of the Browns sinking back in mediocrity when you put Stallworth and Rogers in the same locker room.

an excerpt from an article on Rogers...... "........Savage also confirmed the team hosted visits Friday by New England receiver Donte Stallworth and Tennessee defensive end/linebacker Travis LaBoy. More players are expected to visit over the weekend, including Baltimore linebacker Nick Greisen. The Browns also are trying to line up a visit with Pittsburgh outside linebacker Clark Haggans. Savage said he hopes to sign more players over the weekend, but wasn't sure it could get done. " http://blog.cleveland.com/sports/2008/02/browns_close_to_deal_for_lions.html

Yeah talent is bad to have...
Have you not noticed how players seem to actually play for Crennel? They'll be fine here.

I would have to agree that I would like us to look elsewhere for a WR. Stallworth has had hammy issues his first 3 years in the league. I have not seen anything really special about him. For the money that he will be asking for we could do better for alot less $$.

I thought Stallworth was underutilized as well with NE. There were a lot of players catching the ball.
I would be fine with Stallworth, but my preferance is Johnson. Watch the AZ game, he had a great game with Bouldin and Fitz on the sideline.
Haggens would be a nice pick up.
Welcome back, Joe, we missed you!

Stallworth ripped the Browns apart when we played them... He's hard to bring down because of how quick/shifty he is, and hes really fast... That is exactly the type of receiver the Browns don't have (DO NOT TIM CARTER.) He would be an excellent fit here in Cleveland, that is exactly why Savage has brought him here for a visit.

Thank you . Finally someone who isn't completely oblivious to Stallworth's ability and the reason why he was brought in to visit in the first place .
Ink him now .

I have trust in the FO and they will do their best in signing the players that they feel with help the ball club. I understand why he has been invited to come in and hopefully he (Stallworth) is not the only WR that we ask to come in.
The main reason for this is that I think he will be asking form more money than he his really worth. I believe that we may find better value for the money with the kid from AZ. Afterall, I would hate to see Stallworth get big money for being a #2 and then have to listen to BE saying he is underpaid to the amount that Stallworth is getting at #2.

http://www.nfl.com/freeagency/story?id=09000d5d806f9041&template=with-video&confirm=trueWR Johnson visits Buffalo Arizona free-agent wide receiver Bryant Johnson is traveling to Buffalo today for a visit with the Bills. Johnson started eight games for the Cardinals in 2007, and had 46 receptions for 528 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Johnson has been buried on the Cardinals depth chart below starting receivers Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald -- Adam Schefter _____ possibly he can make a trip a little bit to the west if he doesn't get inked there....

speaking of Buffalo...I think we should take a look at Sam Aiken. hes a backup WR there.
He's recently shown an ability to work the slot, and isnt afraid to come across the middle. He'd be good to sign to a longer contract, and let him learn from JoeJ for a year or two, and then dominate.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3272450 On the first day of NFL free agency, the Cleveland Browns first locked up quarterback Derek Anderson with a three-year deal. On Saturday, they gave him a new target to pass to. According to a source, Donte' Stallworth, who played last season with the New England Patriots, agreed to terms on a contract with the Browns. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Stallworth caught 46 passes for 697 yards and three touchdowns as part of a receving corps that included Wes Welker and Pro Bowler Randy Moss. Stallworth's best overall season was in 2005 when he caught 70 passes for 945 yards and seven touchdowns as a member of the New Orleans Saints.

Sounds like Williams is official, Rogers in the fold and now Stallworth.
I know it's all just on paper for the moment...but somebody pinch me please!
For amusement, take a stroll around the Bengal and Steeler msg boards. They were agonizing before and they've not even begun posting our latest new toy!
Ah revenge will be sweet!

Agreed !....Just a thought , I think we still could use a extra (Big) RB to sub Lewis....I have nothing against Wright , IMO another Bruiser couldn't hurt .....

Any news on Laboy? Initially, I had heard he left town without a contract but had since heard he'd stuck around and still was in heavy negotiations with us.

Hmmmm...I wonder what the interest is here -- and what it could lead one to think about Bentley.
Rex Hadnot * #66 * Center * Miami Dolphins
* Height: 6-2 * Weight: 325 * Born: Jan 28, 1982 - Lufkin, TX * College: Houston * Draft: 2004 - 6th round (9th pick) by the Miami Dolphins
* No playing stats -- doesn't appear to have seen the field

There was an article on the mainsite saying that Bentley would be participating this spring. Probably covering all their bases. Bentley may be at guard when healthy. I don't think Hank is going anywhere.

Ahhh, that's true. I didn't think about Bentley shifting to guard. In that case, it probably makes a lot of sense to get a developmental center in here.

Hadnot.... this would be okay with me. We do need to ensure that we have solid depth along the line for that "just in case..." scenario. The same goes for the defensive line, I think we need another guy for rotational sake and one more for the secondary with all the young corners we have, particularly a veteran presence there would be essential.
Other than that, does anyone, if this D comes together, and we get solid QB play think the Super Bowl is not out of the question?

Hadnot is versatile (RG/C) and durable (played all 16 games 3 seasons straight) while the same can't be said about Tucker or McKinney. He'd be a decent insurance policy. Gotta be better than Sowells.

A team with the same record we had last year WON the Superbowl... Granted we had a cake schedule but it CAN be done...
The ingredients needed to get that done are getting mixed in this offseason... Like many people on here, I feel DA cost left A LOT on the field last year but at the same time, he did A BUNCH of great things as well... In my opinion, the greatest trait he displayed was his field presence when the game was on the line... He didn't fold in those situations and when you start to whisper things like competing for a Superbowl, you need players that can do that... Not comparing DA to John Elway but that was the same poise he had when the game was on the line...
Sorry if I got a little off subject but there was a point to it all... With QB being the most important position on the field, he exudes a calm that carries over to his offense... IF we can have that defensive leader that can provide that calming effect that DA has, then I truly feel that we DO have a decent shot at it...
