Yeah that was pretty dumb. I still think it's good to be loyal to a player like Tuck for all the trench work he's put in for us.
I forget did we pay this guy millions? Isn't he suppose to be a professional?
This is a business...don't cry to me when I say I have absolutely no faith in Tucker...and even if he did come back he is NOT what he was 2 years ago

Hey GM what injury did he have? Did his play tamper off? What was his reasoning for not playing...?
It was not due to him being crazy It was due to a problem that many, many people live with. When or IF Tuck and his family deciede to make it public then everybody will know. But I will not be spewing his personal info all over the net.

I never said you should but honestly he is what 40 something...He lost 3 steps last year when he couldn't afford to lose 1/2 of one...
Im sorry I dont expect Tucker to be part of the picture....Bentley I have hopes for 08 but Tucker I expect him to be cut after this year

Just exactly how would you know that he is not what he was 2 years ago? He didn't play most of last year. And besides, Charlie has a bad habit of rolling to the right and Tuck did a good job on that while he played. When he wasn't in, that all went down hill in a hurry. Tuck is good right where he is.

Tuck still has some gas left in his tank.It would be fantastic to get a bona-fide LT in here, move Shaff to Rt and allow Tuck to finish out his days at RG. My biggest fear now is a boating accident involving Stien.Of coarse he now has enough money to hire a captain. Ahoy matey.
Indecision may,or maynot,be my problem

Theres no way we sing Dielman too. That may be going overboard lets do whatever we have to and get Clements signed. We can draft another guard in the 3rd round.

Tucker is 31 not 40 (there go those butt cheeks again) and he was still our best O-lineman last year, and he sure as hell had not lost three steps

Just clicking in...
YES!!!
I think we might even pencil him in at LT....Shaffer goes to RT....Tucker if back will vie for the RG position...we need more stability at RT ergo Shaffer Inked there.
If Thomas is available and becomes a Brown then Steinbach moves to LG.
We will go to camp as per:
Thomas...Steinbach....Fraley....Tucker...Shaffer
Now that at least will be a very, very respectable OL Andruzzi as a sub along with Butler and Sowells.
JMHO
Defense wins championships. Watson play your butt off! Go Browns! CHRIST HAS RISEN! GM Strong! & Stay safe everyone!

Who cares. For years people have been saying" Let's pay for quality linemen for once and quit going after retreads or 2nd tier linemen". We finally are trying to do that and you now have to find fault with it. Give me a break! Some people just bitch to bitch.
i'm with you roadDawg, This is a good start! why talk about o-line if we are willing to put our money where out mouth is.

My point was an exaggeration his point wasn't...there is a difference
Once lineman go over 30 they lose steps especially ones with bad knees and mental problems ( what would you like me to call it GM)

I hope Tuck makes it back to starting form.... but if we do draft JT we will have some depth at O-line which means we will line it up how we can get our best 5 on the field period.

Many O-lineman still play well into their mid 30's. Has Tuck lost A step. Maybe but he was still playing very well last season. As far as his problems, call them what you want, but crazy does not describe it.

I would rather see Tucker be a depth player nothing more...I dont like having a player on a team that could bolt at anytime....remember the mess that Bob Hallen caused...?
Do you really want to go through that again.....?
Unlike I am not going to depend on a player who may never play again...Same for Bents..to me so far this is what we have:
Fraley Butler Steinbach Shaffer
and a couple backups....Sorry I am not going to count on Bents or Tucker coming back....If he misses more than 5 games due to mental problems again this year he should be cut...

Just clicking,, I find it amazing that we just got news that we have all been waiting for,.. We have a legit OG in his prime and some of you guys are arguing about if Tuck if 31 or 40 years old.. Some are talking about moving Stienbach to LT,,, why.. why would you do that,., he's a proven LG,,, Leave it alone and draft thomas,, Tucker,,while I like the guy, has a problem,, we don't know how deep it goes,, we don't evenknow what the heck it is,,, I hope he's ok and I hope he can play again,,, but I ain't counting on it., Right now,, we have this: LT: shaffer LG: Stienbach C: Fraley RG: Sowells or maybe Andruzzi RT: Nobody But to heck with all that,,, we got us a REAL GUARD.... Yeee Hawww

Here is the link we all have been waiting for: CLEVELAND (AP) -- The Cleveland Browns have agreed to contract terms with free agent offensive lineman Eric Steinbach on a seven-year deal, a league source told The Associated Press on Friday. Financial terms were not immediately available. The versatile Steinbach, who played the past four seasons for the Cincinnati Bengals, will sign the contract once he passes a physical, said the source who asked to remain anonymous because the signing hasn't been finalized. As long as there are no hangups, this will be the second straight year the Browns have addressed their offensive line by signing the top free agent available. Last March, the club gave a six-year, $36 million contract to Pro Bowl center LeCharles Bentley, who suffered a career-threatening knee injury early in training camp. The Browns are counting on better luck with Steinbach, a 6-foot-6, 290-pounder who can play guard or tackle. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/football/nfl/03/02/steinbach.browns.ap/index.html

I guess we agree on something then GM...but I am pessimistic person when it comes to injuries and the browns..
I hope he comes back but I don't think he will. Therefore we need to act as if he isn't on the team

I understand your concerns about Tucker... I have bi polar and I am disabled because of it. I don't know Tuck's history, but I do know a lot of times when someone is first diagnosed they suffer more from the side effects of meds than the actual illness. If that is indeed the case he may have no long term effects.
